Step into this key role as an Information Technology Generalist 2 and make a real impact on statewide technology services. You will help support the agency’s enterprise document management and workflow system which includes DocFinity and the IrisXtract intelligent capture platform. This position offers the opportunity to solve problems, support users, and guide system improvements though strong attention to detail, sound analytical skills, and the ability to learn and apply technical processes to ensure accurate document capture, routing, and storage across the organization. Your efforts will help keep essential operations moving for the Commonwealth.
This position ensures the strong performance and security of the imaging system that supports financial operations throughout the Commonwealth. The role provides technical guidance, system support, and coordination across multiple technology areas. As an Information Technology Generalist 2, you will perform the following duties:
- System Administration: Manage imaging system components and keep servers, databases, and related tools functioning reliably
- Database Oversight: Maintain SQL databases, monitor performance, and support backup and recovery processes
- Server Configuration: Configure web servers, manage security settings, and support system integrations
- Documentation Updates: Create and maintain clear records of system procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps
- Security Management: Maintain user permissions, support Active Directory use, and ensure secure access to system resources
- Technical Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting, guide users, and assist with imaging and scanning equipment needs

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, two days per week in office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Information Technology Generalist 1, Applications Developer 1, or Network Specialist 1;(Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
- Two years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
- A bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
