This role supports daily office operations that help the Department of Human Services serve the public. The work involves communication, organization and handling materials and information with care. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Reception Support: Greet visitors, answer questions and guide individuals to the proper staff or resources
- Telephone Assistance: Manage incoming and outgoing calls, screen callers and direct them to the correct contact
- Document Preparation: Prepare reports and correspondence, maintain tracking systems and proofread materials for accuracy
- Office Equipment Use: Operate computers, copiers, fax machines, shredders and other office equipment
- Filing and Records: Organize, set up and maintain filing systems and pull case records for storage
- Mail and Supplies: Sort mail, manage inventory, distribute supplies and maintain storage areas
- Chauffeur and Delivery: Pick up and deliver mail, correspondence, supplies, equipment, or staff on a daily basis

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
- This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.

- Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.
