The Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) seeks a highly organized, creative, and collaborative Communications & Engagement Coordinator to support communications, member engagement, and professional learning initiatives across the CPED network.
This position plays a key role in promoting CPED’s mission and strengthening engagement among member institutions, delegates, and scholarly practitioners. The ideal candidate is creative, proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to advancing CPED’s mission through strong communication, collaboration, and member engagement. Occasional travel will be required through the year to annual convenings.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, education, marketing, instructional design, or a related field preferred; 3 years of relevant experience
Strong written & verbal communication skills.
Experience managing websites, blogs, newsletters, & social media platforms.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite & Canva required.
Experience creating digital learning materials.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail & ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experiencing collaborating & organizing groups and groups activities.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders in a professional learning network.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in communications, education, marketing, instructional design, or a related field preferred;
Experience with higher education or nonprofit organizations.
Knowledge of the Education Doctorate (EdD) landscape and professional practice education.
Experience facilitating groups in virtual or in person spaces.
Familiarity with content management systems, email marketing platforms, and digital collaboration tools.
Executes University communications and marketing strategies for a program or unit. Oversees print and electronic communications, subsequent media promotion, and development of a content marketing plan. Tracks and evaluates marketing strategies. Guides staff. Ensures consistent messaging and maintains University brand and style.
Primary Responsibilities
Communications and Marketing
• Write, edit, & distribute CPED’s monthly newsletter.
• Develop & manage social media content across multiple platforms to promote CPED initiatives, events, and member engagement.
• Update & maintain the CPED website, including website content & blog posts.
• Promote the annual CPED Convening through digital communications, marketing campaigns, & social media outreach.
• Assist in developing promotional materials & communication strategies for CPED programs & events.
Resource Development and Management
• Reorganize, maintain, & update the CPED Resource Center to ensure accessibility and relevance for member institutions.
• Create professional learning modules and instructional materials for the Executive Director to support responses to questions related to the Education Doctorate (EdD).
• Assist in organizing and curating digital resources for delegates and members.
Member Engagement and Collaboration
• Work collaboratively with CPED Improvement Groups (CIGs) to develop webinars, learning opportunities, and member programming.
• Serve as a liaison between CPED delegates and the Executive Director to support communication and collaboration across the network.
• Coordinate communications and follow-up related to webinars, meetings, and collaborative initiatives.
Mostly a sedentary position, involving sitting and computer work for long periods of time. Minimal lifting, pushing and pulling. Position requires meetings with faculty, staff, and students in other parts of the building and throughout the campus. Occasional travel to annual convenings.
