This position plays a key role in developing clear communication that supports the department's mission. As a Deputy Communications Director 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Content Development: Write, edit, and prepare information for newsletters and communication materials
- Internal Coordination: Coordinate communication efforts across programs to support consistent information sharing
- Media Support: Provide details to senior staff to help respond to inquiries from the public and media
- Strategic Engagement: Represent the Office of Communications during meetings that support planning and strategy
- Project Management: Manage multiple communication projects and work with staff who have different needs
- Document Oversight: Serve as the lead coordinator for official communication documents and support publication reviews

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in preparing public relations promotion through all media; and a bachelor’s degree with major course work in journalism, communications, English, or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess a current Class C driver's license which is not under suspension.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
