This role focuses on maintaining a clean and orderly environment throughout the facility. The work supports the health and comfort of residents, staff, and visitors. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Deep Cleaning: Perform thorough cleaning of rooms, common spaces, offices, restrooms, and other facility areas
- General Cleaning: Carry out routine tasks such as mopping, dusting, sweeping, polishing, and sanitizing surfaces
- Supply Restocking: Replace soap, paper products, cleaning materials, and other needed supplies
- Waste Handling: Remove trash, recyclable materials, and infectious waste and place them in proper disposal areas
- Furniture Movement: Shift furniture and equipment as needed to support cleaning tasks and room rearrangements
- Safety Awareness: Maintain safe work practices and report hazards or concerns to supervisors
- Outdoor Maintenance: Assist with shoveling snow and clean debris from sidewalks

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work every other weekend and alternating holidays.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Willingness to work in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania
- Willingness to work a 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM shift
- Experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person in an assisted living facility, nursing home, or hospital (Experience might include such things as cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, offices or public areas; mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, and buffing)
- Work experience interacting with patients or residents while cleaning in patient or resident rooms or a dining room setting
- Work experience with cleaning bodily fluids and disposing infectious waste into proper storage areas
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
