This position supports the delivery of human resource services by helping employees with their questions and requests. The role plays an important part in ensuring that information is shared accurately and tasks are completed on time. As a Human Resource Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • FMLA Guidance: Provide information to employees about FMLA rules, required forms, and correct absence entry based on policy research
  • Document Handling: Prepare notices and letters, maintain confidentiality, and upload documents to electronic records
  • Mail Processing: Sort incoming mail, prioritize items, and route materials to staff using sound judgment
  • SAP Review: Check FMLA eligibility and leave quotas to confirm details and determine appropriate actions
  • PDF Editing: Use software tools to edit PDF files as part of daily work
  • Task Management: Organize high volumes of calls and messages while meeting strict deadlines

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of clerical or other comparable experience which involved obtaining, providing, and evaluating information in accordance with established standards; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
