- Tier One Technologies is seeking a MuleSoft Engineer to support a New York State Government client.
- The work will focus on leveraging the MuleSoft ecosystem to build out the automated integration architecture and data pipelines connecting these critical SaaS platforms.
- This is a 100% remote contract position
Responsibilities:
- API Design & Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of APIs using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. Develop reusable MuleSoft components, connectors, RAML specifications, and rigorous technical documentation.
- Architecture & Lifecycle Management: Architect and maintain integration flows connecting multiple SaaS platforms. Manage the end-to-end API lifecycle, including design, versioning, mapping, testing, and deployment.
- Requirements & Process Analysis: Analyze business and technical requirements to translate them into technical integration specifications and future-state workflows.
- Security & Policy Configuration: Configure API security policies, gateways, SLAs, and continuous monitoring through MuleSoft administrative tools to ensure secure data transmission.
- Testing & Optimization: Participate in integration testing, error handling design, and root-cause defect analysis. Support comprehensive troubleshooting and performance optimization for API integrations.
- Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer: Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to validate integration specifications. Provide detailed knowledge transfer and integration best practices to internal County team members.
- Project Management & Risk Tracking: Participate in weekly status meetings with the Department's single point of contact. Track integration defects and technical environment risks, categorizing issues by severity (Critical, High, Medium, Low) in a weekly progress log.
Qualifications:
- A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of IT development experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with technical and non-technical team members.
- Must be a US Citizen or have permanent residence status (Green Card).
- Be able to pass a drug screening, criminal history, and credit checks.
Required Technical Qualifications:
- MuleSoft Expertise: Hands-on experience with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Anypoint Studio, API Manager, Anypoint Exchange, Runtime Manager, and proficiency in DataWeave.
- API Development: Proven experience developing, deploying, and supporting REST APIs and specialized Mule applications.
- Architectural Understanding: Strong mastery of API-led connectivity, microservices architecture, and enterprise integration patterns (EIP).
- SaaS Ecosystem Integration: Documented experience integrating two or more SaaS systems within an enterprise environment.
- Technical Standards: Advanced proficiency with JSON, XML, RAML, OAuth2, TLS, and modern API security standards.
- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze complex business processes and translate them into technical integration requirements. Strong debugging, performance tuning, and environment configuration skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications:
- Target System Familiarity: Direct experience designing or building API integrations with one or more of the following platforms is highly desirable:
- CGI Advantage 4.0 (Financial/ERP systems)
- Workday (HR/Finance)
- PaymentWorks (Vendor onboarding and payment compliance)
- Tyler Munis (ERP)
- Euna Grants (Grant management)
- Domain Experience: Experience designing integrations or middleware solutions for government or public sector environments. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) or DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- MuleSoft Professional Certifications:
- MuleSoft Certified Developer (MCD – Level 1 or 2)
- MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect
