In this Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisor role, you will lead a team that delivers vocational rehabilitation through individualized service plans and community collaborations. We will rely on you to help your team ensure consistent and effective service delivery that helps persons with disabilities prepare for, obtain or maintain employment. Your responsibilities in this role will include: 

  • Supervise Workflow: Guide, organize, and support staff in daily responsibilities and long term goals
  • Oversee Casework: Review case information and progress, approve key decisions, and ensure accurate and timely documentation, quality service, and adherence to legal requirements
  • Manage Performance: Jointly establish performance goals with employees, monitor progress, and provide feedback through ongoing evaluation and conversation
  • Provide Training: Lead training sessions, identify development needs, inform staff of new policies and procedures, and serve as a technical resource for the office, management, and community
  • Community Collaboration: Build relationships community partners to promote, assess, modify, and facilitate service delivery
  • Program Alignment: Ensure compliance with regulations, address service delivery issues, and uphold quality standards

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are typically 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Schedule is negotiable - 7.5 hour workday and lunch period is 30 minutes or 60 minutes depending on work hours. Alternate Work Schedules (AWS) are available for eligible candidates. 
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Altoona. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,736 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor; Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, Deaf and Hard of Hearing; Vision Rehabilitation Therapist; or Orientation and Mobility Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or 
  • Two years as a Social Worker 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) in the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation; or 
  • Two years of professional experience in a public vocational rehabilitation program, and a master’s degree in vocational rehabilitation, mental health, special education, social work, human services, psychology or a closely related field; or 
  • Two years of professional experience in a public vocational rehabilitation program, and possession of an active Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certificate issued by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification.
