The Pennsylvania Treasury Department is an independent agency led by the elected State Treasurer and one of the largest state treasuries in the country, serving as custodian of more than $150 billion. Treasury plays a critical role in state government operations, acting as the custodian, investor, and disburser of funds for nearly all state agencies. This position provides technical support for Treasury's OnBase systems and various custom applications that are used across the agency. Your work helps ensure payment processes, system functions, and digital operations run smoothly and reliably. As an IT Generalist 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • System Monitoring: Track daily system activity to confirm accurate file intake and workflow execution
  • Issue Troubleshooting: Diagnose production issues, document findings, and respond to user calls and tickets
  • Software Testing: Test system software, analyze outputs, and create test plans with business users
  • Template Management: Update letter and check templates and support system upgrades
  • User Support: Assist staff with questions, provide guidance, and ensure effective use of technology resources
  • Continuity Activities: Participate in training and exercises that support operational readiness

Work Schedule and Additional Information: 

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. You will be required to report in-office 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician; or
  • Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
  • One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have experience using Microsoft computer applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as experience with troubleshooting techniques in Microsoft Windows environment.
  • You must have experience prioritizing tasks, managing multiple responsibilities, and meeting deadlines effectively and in assigned timeframes.
  • You must have experience in creating and executing test plans for various custom applications.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience with OnBase workplace and related functions
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting, and identifying reported problems with application processes
