This position helps deliver supportive services to families where child abuse or neglect has been identified. The work focuses on short-term assistance, direct support, and maintaining communication with workers and families. As a County Social Services Aide 3, you will perform the following duties:
- Service Coordination: Support families by accepting tasks assigned by supervisors and responding to needs that may require extended or flexible hours
- Family Meetings: Meet with workers during special circumstances to clarify tasks and roles in family situations
- Client Support: Assist families with obtaining food, clothing, household items, housing, job training, or employment
- Transportation Assistance: Transport clients to appointments, visits, and other required locations and be available for emergency transportation when needed
- Visit Monitoring: Monitor family visits and provide observations to assigned workers on an ongoing basis
- Home Visit Assistance: Help workers with home visits, placements, document filing, uploading, and maintaining case files
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- This position requires flexible hours according to need, which may include early morning, late evening or weekends.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a County Social Services Aide 2; or
- Graduation from high school, or its equivalency, and three years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information; or
- An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences, and one year of experience in a human services agency; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
