The Academic Affairs Project Manager provides essential administrative support to the Office of Academic Affairs at the School of Dental Medicine. This role provides essential support for the overall delivery of the predoctoral curriculum, including but not limited to managing academic schedules, coordinating meetings, running academic reports, supporting the affairs of the predoctoral curriculum committee, assisting faculty with educational technology, and performing related administrative tasks. Manages academic program operations and assists with enrollment or other similar functions for assigned college, campus, or department. Coordinates training and development for faculty and advisers and provides academic advising to assigned students. Coordinates research within the department as well as recruitment activities.
- Provides essential support for the overall delivery of the predoctoral curriculum, including but not limited to managing academic schedules, coordinating meetings, running academic reports, supporting the essential functions of the predoctoral curriculum committee, assisting faculty with educational technology, and performing related administrative tasks.
- Responsible for overall management of the administrative functions of the Office of Academic Affairs as defined by the Associate and Assistant Deans for Academic Affairs and/or the Director of Predoctoral Education.
- Major responsibilities include developing complex schedules; coordinating schedules across educational programs; analyzing information and using sound judgment to identify and resolve conflicts; accurately entering information into the University’s PeopleSoft and scheduling systems in accordance with the established deadlines and with careful attention to detail; and communicating accurate information to faculty, students, and staff in a timely manner.
- Supports faculty, staff, and students in the educational technology systems used to deliver the predoctoral curriculum at the School of Dental Medicine.
- Manages the implementation of the Systematic Course Evaluation (SCE) policy with respect to administering course surveys each term, monitoring completion, organizing and distributing results, and monitoring trends. Coordinates student focus group meetings each term.
- Analyzes goods and services among vendors for Academic Affairs events and selects the most appropriate options; manages event budgets and coordinates vendor services to ensure that events run smoothly.
- Ensures that the Academic Affairs intranet and website are organized and current; updates the University course catalog system (i.e. Acalog) in accordance with established deadlines; updates curriculum-related documents as directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position is primarily sedentary, but requires the individual to move about the dental school and University; manual dexterity is required for writing and the use of computers. Lifting for required for receiving or delivering packages.
