As a Clerical Assistant 3 EC with the Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission, you will support key administrative activities that guide ethical government operations. Your role strengthens essential services by assisting callers, processing documents, and helping keep office systems organized. This position supports the daily operations of the Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission through communication, document processing, and administrative coordination. Work involves maintaining accurate records, supporting key programs, and ensuring smooth office functions. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:

  • Communication Support: Receive calls, route inquiries, assist callers, and document important messages
  • Mail Processing: Open, scan, date stamp, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and packages
  • SFI Administration: Review filings, track documents, identify deficiencies, and support compliance processes
  • Administrative Assistance: Support procurement, purchasing card reconciliation, automotive tracking, and payment processing
  • Record Management: Maintain filing systems, spreadsheets, logs, and databases to support office operations
  • General Office Work: Operate office equipment and assist with special projects and cross training activities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You must be available to work at minimum 3 days per week in-office or field. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • This position requires excellent English grammar, organization, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, a professional office demeanor and the ability to work independently.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess curiosity, creativity, professionalism, initiative, attention to detail, patience, and a strong interest in good and honest government. 
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience with SAP software
  • Experience maintaining confidential information
  • Customer service experience with answering phones and greeting walk-ins
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
