This position guides essential nursing care and helps maintain a supportive environment for residents in the Southeastern Veterans' Center. The focus is on providing safe and effective care while coordinating with the nursing team. As a Registered Nurse, you will perform the following duties:
- Resident Assessments: Conduct assessments, observe changes in condition, and document care in approved systems
- Care Coordination: Develop care plans, coordinate implementation with staff, and revise plans based on resident response
- Medication Oversight: Dispense medications, ensure proper administration by qualified personnel, and maintain accurate medication records
- Team Communication: Relay important information to supervisors, participate in rounds and meetings, and support communication among staff, residents, and families
- Quality and Safety: Conduct audits, follow regulatory standards, support QAPI efforts, and take corrective action on safety concerns
- Leadership Support: Provide guidance to subordinates, teach procedures, evaluate performance, and assist with staffing needs

Work Hours and Additional Information:
- Part-time employment, 8hrs per day; 40hrs per week.
- Positions are available on the following shifts
- 2nd shift – 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
- 3rd shift – 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Rotating weekends and holidays.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Necessary Special Requirements:
- This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- If you are within 60 days of graduating from a school of nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Registered Nurse license.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
