In this position, you will oversee daily highway maintenance operations and leads crews in completing a wide range of roadway projects. The work you will do plays a key role in ensuring safe and well-maintained travel routes across the district. As a Highway Foreman 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Crew Leadership: Direct crews in performing varied highway maintenance activities
- Maintenance Oversight: Guide work involving patching, drainage tasks, roadside cleanup, and emergency response
- Safety Management: Promote safe work practices and respond quickly to incidents or hazards
- Work Planning: Schedule tasks, allocate resources, and review road conditions to support effective planning
- Training Support: Teach proper use of tools, equipment, and maintenance procedures to crew members

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position may require modified work hours, including overtime during winter events.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Highway Foreman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience in the performance of lead work or skilled tradesman duties on a highway maintenance or construction project; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver's License.
