This position supports the work of professional social service staff by assisting children, youth, families, and individuals who are mentally disabled with daily needs and appointments. As a County Social Services Aide 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Client Transport: Escort clients to medical, dental, court, foster home, and recreational appointments
- Daily Assistance: Help clients and families with routine living tasks such as home care, meal planning, budgeting, and child care
- Clerical Support: Carry out basic office tasks including filing, answering phones, delivering mail, and preparing documents
- Room Upkeep: Maintain order and cleanliness in waiting and visiting rooms
- Child Supervision: Monitor children during office visits and in crisis situations within homes
- Item Delivery: Pick up and deliver personal items, clothing, equipment, and other materials for clients
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Starting salary is non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- You must pass a background investigation.
