- Direct the month-end close cycle by preparing and reviewing journal entries, analyzing results, and ensuring timely completion of financial statements.
- Monitor cash positions, manage banking activity, support fraud prevention efforts, and develop recurring cash flow projections to help guide business decisions.
- Maintain accurate bank reconciliations, fixed asset records, and depreciation schedules while ensuring supporting documentation is complete and organized.
- Supervise front-office accounting staff, provide guidance to team members, and step in to support essential transactional duties when needed.
- Oversee collection efforts for outstanding receivables and help drive consistent follow-up to improve cash recovery and account resolution.
- Support payroll-related accounting by recording pay-period entries and serving as an on-site resource for payroll and benefits administration matters.
- Ensure compliance with tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Coordinate audit preparation by assembling schedules, responding to external auditor requests, and assisting with interim and year-end review activities.
- Evaluate accounting procedures and internal controls, then implement process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and operational effectiveness.
