This position supports the operation, repair, and maintenance of air monitoring equipment used to measure air quality across Pennsylvania.  Daily tasks involve equipment upkeep, sample collection, calibration, and documentation.  As an Air Monitoring Equipment Specialist, you will perform the following duties:


  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on air monitoring instruments and system components
  • Precision Checks: Review analyzer performance and make adjustments to keep equipment functioning within required limits
  • Calibration Work: Calibrate instruments using set procedures and document results for accuracy and compliance
  • Corrective Actions: Diagnose equipment issues and repair sensors, monitors, and support equipment
  • Sample Management: Maintain filters and samples from PM2.5, PM10, and other air sampling systems
  • Site Operations: Drive to monitoring stations, maintain supplies, and document all completed work in required systems

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • An associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology, information sciences and technology, or a closely related field; or
  • Two years of technical experience testing and repairing electronic or electrical equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
