The Department of Health (DOH) is offering an exciting opportunity to serve as a Public Health Program Administrator in the Health Research Office. In this role, you will support important research efforts that guide health programs across the Commonwealth. Your work will help advance projects that benefit communities and improve public health outcomes. This position oversees grants, contracts, and research activities that support the goals of the Health Research Office. As a Public Health Program Administrator, you will perform the following duties:

  • Grant Oversight: Review applications, monitor grantee progress, and evaluate reports for assigned projects
  • Project Coordination: Work with internal teams and advisory committees to support research priorities and program needs
  • Data Evaluation: Analyze grant deliverables, statistical and budgetary information, and performance outcomes to assess progress
  • Technical Guidance: Provide assistance to applicants and grantees regarding project requirements and needed revisions
  • Regulation Review: Develop updates to policies, procedures, and regulations based on state and federal guidance
  • Committee Support: Prepare agendas, meeting materials, and documentation for advisory committee activities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Public Health Program Associate 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
