The Department of Transportation is seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 who enjoys detail-oriented work and helping daily processes run smoothly. This role allows you to support important customer transactions by entering data and reviewing forms with accuracy. You will be part of a team that values strong organization and dependable service. This position supports essential PennDOT operations by entering information, reviewing forms, and maintaining organized workflow to ensure accurate processing of customer transactions. 

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Fee Waiver Compliance: Ensure correct fee waiver codes are used and documented according to guidelines
  • Data Entry: Enter required information from forms into computer systems for processing titles and registrations
  • Form Review: Examine forms for required information and reject applications with discrepancies
  • Work Processing: Retrieve, organize, and process work using transporter bins and maintain an orderly workspace
  • Reference Use: Apply procedures and reference materials to complete tasks accurately
  • Safety Awareness: Follow safety procedures, report concerns, and understand evacuation and communication protocols

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39,287 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
