This position performs skilled electrical work to install, maintain, and repair systems and equipment at Fort Indiantown Gap. It ensures secure operations, reliable power, and well-functioning facilities across the site. As an Electrician 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Electrical Installation: Install, alter, and repair electrical systems, fixtures, and related equipment
- Troubleshooting Tasks: Locate power failures, identify short circuits, and correct electrical issues
- Wiring Work: Lay out conduits, run new lines, and install open or concealed wiring and fixtures
- Component Replacement: Replace breakers, switches, receptacles, ballasts, and lighting components
- Equipment Service: Install air conditioners and service new and existing units
- Tool Maintenance: Keep tools in good condition and complete preventive maintenance as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment (7.5 hours per day; 37.5 hours per week)
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (1st shift), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
- Overtime as operationally necessary
- Essential Employee: You will be required to work during emergencies and office closings.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- You must possess an active motor vehicle license.
Additional Requirements:
- You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
