This position performs a variety of manual tasks that support the upkeep of buildings, equipment, and outdoor areas at South Mountain Restoration Center. The work ensures that all grounds and facilities remain safe, functional, and in line with agency standards. As a Laborer, you will perform the following duties:

  • Grounds Maintenance: Carry out mowing, snow removal, road care, and general upkeep of outdoor areas
  • Manual Labor: Perform lifting, hauling, surface preparation, and other physical tasks across the campus
  • Equipment Handling: Move tools, machines, and furniture to support maintenance and facility operations
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare indoor and outdoor areas for repainting, including limited painting work
  • Tool Use: Use simple maintenance tools and operate basic machines to complete assigned tasks

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirements:
  • You must possess a current driver's license which is not under suspension.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
