UPMC Health Plan has an exciting opportunity for a Data Governance Analyst, Associate position.  This is a full-time position working daylight hours and will be a hybrid position consisting of working from home and in office. 

The Data Governance Analyst Associate at UPMC Health Plan will support the Data Governance Department by assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance policies, procedures, and standards. 

This role leverages tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, and SharePoint to develop reports, automate processes, manage data-related workflows, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders. The analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify trends, improve data quality, support business decision-making, and drive operational efficiencies. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams to promote effective data management practices and governance standards.
Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the documentation and maintenance of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Support data quality initiatives by assisting in the identification and resolution of data quality issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather data governance requirements and support data analysis and management activities.
  • Assist in the management and monitoring of data governance tools and platforms.
  • Participate in data governance meetings and help prepare materials for presentations and reports.
  • Support the Data Governance team in day-to-day activities, including data catalog management, data transfer authorization request and documentation.
  • basic data analysis and reporting to support data governance initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and data security.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Power Platform and basic knowledge of data governance tools.
