Job Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Data to lead regional data and technology initiatives across global teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management and Scrum Master capabilities, coupled with hands-on experience in data platforms and analytics technologies. This role will be responsible for driving Agile delivery, managing stakeholder expectations, and translating business requirements into technically actionable user stories for engineering teams while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and data governance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate Agile Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Backlog Grooming, and Retrospectives.
- Manage sprint backlogs, project roadmaps, and delivery plans in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
- Track project progress, risks, dependencies, and impediments, ensuring timely resolution and delivery.
- Drive execution planning, effort estimation, capacity planning, and release management activities.
- Provide regular project status updates and communicate delivery metrics to stakeholders and leadership teams.
Requirements & Stakeholder Management:
- Partner with regional and global business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and refine requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements.
- Act as a liaison between business users, product owners, architects, and engineering teams.
- Facilitate workshops, requirement discussions, and solution reviews to ensure alignment and clarity.
- Coordinate cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to ensure seamless execution and stakeholder alignment.
Data & Technology Delivery:
- Lead projects involving Data Engineering, Analytics, Reporting, and Business Intelligence solutions.
- Work closely with technical teams leveraging Databricks, Power BI, enterprise databases, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to validate technical feasibility and solution approaches.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance, architecture, and security standards.
- Support AI and GenAI-driven initiatives by translating business use cases into implementation-ready requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Project Management, Scrum Master, Business Analysis, Data Delivery, or related roles.
- Proven experience leading Agile delivery teams and managing end-to-end project execution.
- Strong experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile project management methodologies.
- Experience working with Databricks, Power BI, Data Warehousing, and enterprise database technologies.
- Strong understanding of data engineering, analytics, reporting, and business intelligence concepts.
- Experience managing global and regional stakeholders across multiple business functions.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with GenAI, AI-enabled analytics, or machine learning projects.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or SAFe Agile are preferred.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise data transformation programs.
