As an Equipment Operator B with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Moshannon Forest District, you will work with powerful machinery that supports forest care year-round. This role focuses on operating heavy equipment and completing manual tasks that support the upkeep of the Moshannon State Forest. As an Equipment Operator B, you will perform the following duties:
- Equipment Operation: Operate graders, bulldozers, backhoes, and other specialized machinery for construction and maintenance work
- Vehicle Handling: Drive heavy vehicles over 32,001 pounds for tasks such as hauling materials and supporting seasonal operations
- Grounds Maintenance: Complete manual labor and general upkeep of forest facilities and surrounding areas
- Equipment Care: Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and cleaning of assigned equipment
- Fire Support: Assist with fire prevention, controlled burns, and suppression activities as needed
- Project Assistance: Support forestry programs involving tree removal, erosion control, surveying, and wildlife efforts

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours will be between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday – Thursday. Specifics about work schedules, including the possibility of an alternate work schedule, will be discussed during the interview.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more: or
- Any equivalent combination of experience or training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Condition of Employment:
This position requires possession of a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
