This role supports budgeting, planning, purchasing, and inventory tasks that help county maintenance programs operate smoothly. It brings together data review, material coordination, and field responsibilities to ensure efficient operations. As a Roadway Programs Technician 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Purchase Management: Handle purchases for equipment, fuel, services, utilities, as well as building and grounds maintenance
  • Material Coordination: Monitor rented equipment bids, request building materials, and ensure availability for maintenance projects
  • Inventory Support: Conduct inventory counts at stockpiles and maintain winter service material databases
  • Data Review: Gather and analyze information for maintenance efficiency measures, charts, and reports
  • SAP Oversight: Manage materials components within database systems and direct purchasing, storage, and issuing of parts
  • Surplus Preparation: Prepare items for surplus or transfer and recommend actions for unusable materials

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,827.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Roadway Programs Technician 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment, and an Associate's Degree in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or closely related program; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
