The Department of Environmental Protection is seeking candidates for a Clerical Assistant 2 (Limited Term) position. This position supports teams that safeguard natural resources across the Commonwealth. Your work will keep information organized, clear, and easy to find. This position plays a key role in keeping agency records organized, accurate, and ready for use by staff and the public. Your work supports environmental protection efforts across the Commonwealth.

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Payment Processing: Aid with handling annual fee and permit application checks
  • Report Routing: Receive reports through the Public Uploading system and reassign them to the responsible manager
  • File Preparation: Maintain and update files in preparation of a scanning project located in the Southwest Regional Office.
  • Digital Conversion: Prepare documents for conversion to digital records, create OnBase start sheets, and operate scanners and microfiche equipment
  • Data Management: Input file data, update file names, verify uploads, and use Microsoft Office tools to document and communicate progress
  • Document Handling: Organize, file, and locate documents for reviews and requests following agency procedures

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
  • Salary: Most selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly rate of $18.83 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
