Position Overview
The Hear Foundation is seeking a Program Associate to support the Foundation’s grantmaking, grantee relationships, and community engagement efforts.
The Program Associate serves as a primary point of contact for prospective, current, and past grantees, providing guidance throughout the grantmaking process. This position works closely with the President & CEO, the Development Associate, the Knowledge and Information Manager, and the Program Committee of the Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees and supports grantees throughout the grantmaking cycle.
- Reviews applications and recommends qualified applications to the President & CEO.
- Collects mid-year and final grantee reports and coordinates documentation with the Knowledge and Information Manager.
- Assist grantees in addressing challenges and identifying resources.
- Conduct grantee site visits.
- Build relationships with grassroots organizations, community stakeholders, and potential partners.
- Attends scheduled Pittsburgh Street Team meetings.
- Identifies grantee success stories for the Communications Team.
- Participates with the President & CEO in school, community, and industry meetings and convenings.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of experience in program, project, grant, or community-based work.
- Experience working with grassroots organizations and community stakeholders.
- Grant and grantee management experience.
- Experience managing program or project budgets.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Commitment to trauma-informed and community-centered practices.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant professional and lived experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Requirements
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 33).
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance (Act 34).
- Ability to attend evening and weekend activities as needed.
- Ability to travel locally for meetings, programs, and site visits.
