This is an internship opportunity, with available stipend at the completion of the internship and eligible for credit pending the candidate’s university/college approval
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Intern must be enrolled in a graduate, bachelor’s or associate degree program and have completed at least one year of college.
- Intern must be pursuing a degree relevant to the role.
- This position is ideal for students majoring in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Marketing, English, Nonprofit Studies, or related field.
- Background checks are required.
DURATION:
- The internship will run for the 26/27 spring semester (Jan-May 2027).
- Start and end dates are flexible based on the intern's school schedule.
- Intern work schedule may vary depending upon course credit requirements, intern scheduling preferences, need for time off, etc.
- Interns may work up to 15 hours per week between 8:30am-5:00pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and/or Thursdays. Hours will be agreed upon between the intern and their supervisor.

In person at the Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania corporate office at 503 Martindale Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.

Role Description:
This position will assist the Fund Development team with securing financial support for Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Donor Relations and Stewardship:
- Learn and utilize donor database, and other essential databases, to track donor information and manage fundraising efforts.
Research:
- Support the Fund Development team in researching online data to identify potential prospects and donors.
- Assist with compiling data and success stories for stewardship and solicitation purposes.
- Assist in creating and maintaining organized files containing proposal drafts, research materials, and related documents.
- Online research, statistical research and reporting activities for the purpose of increasing a more donor-centric framework for identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current and new donors.
- Assist with researching local, regional and national organizations interested in supporting Girl Scouts Western PA. Determine how to best contact these organizations and compiles information and data about the organizations.
Fundraising Events:
When applicable, intern may provide support for occasional fundraising events, including logistics, volunteer coordination, and event materials preparation.
Skills Required:
- Basic computer skills with basic/intermediate experience in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, and using the Internet for research.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Project management skills with the ability to self-motivate.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, current girl issues and Girl Scout programming.
