This position supports financial planning, budget analysis, and expenditure review for several programs within the Office of Long-Term Living. You will assist in developing budgets, reviewing spending, and preparing financial documents for supervisory review. As a Fiscal Management Specialist 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Budget Development: Research historical data and prepare projected budget needs for review
- Expenditure Analysis: Review monthly spending reports and prepare comments to support expenditure control
- Information Review: Collect and summarize fiscal and program data to support management decisions
- Fiscal Discussions: Participate in conversations with program staff to identify financial needs
- Invoice Processing: Review invoices and prepare payment documents for supervisory approval
- Budget Monitoring: Track budgets for contracts and grants to ensure accurate spending

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Financial Programs Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of experience in paraprofessional fiscal administration work, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
