Lead Quality Engineer
Location: Remote in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dallas, Texas, or Cleveland, Ohio and will be required to come onsite as needed
Rate: $45-55hr on direct w2 basis
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Quality Engineer to define and execute the quality strategy for an enterprise Angular Component Library and Design System initiative. This individual will lead quality engineering efforts across component development, accessibility compliance, documentation validation, test automation, and release governance. The ideal candidate possesses experience in UI testing, test automation, accessibility validation, and enterprise application quality assurance, with an understanding of Angular-based applications and reusable component frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
  • Define and implement the overall quality assurance strategy for the Component Library program.
  • Establish testing standards, quality gates, and release criteria.
  • Design and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks.
  • Validate functionality of newly developed reusable components and patterns.
  • Lead defect triage activities, prioritize issues, and provide root cause analysis.
  • Create testing plans, test cases, and quality reports.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectives.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of software quality engineering experience.
  • 3+ years in a QA Lead or Quality Engineering leadership role.
  • Experience testing Angular applications and component-based architectures.
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Test Automation, Functional Testing, Regression Testing, End-to-End Testing, Accessibility Testing, and Performance Testing.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise design systems or component libraries.
  • Experience within banking, financial services, or regulated industries.
  • Experience implementing quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience supporting accessibility compliance programs.
  • Familiarity with design systems, Storybook, and reusable front-end frameworks.
  • Experience leading distributed QA teams.
Desired Technical Skills
Testing & Automation: Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Jest, Jasmine, Karma
Quality Engineering Tools: Azure DevOps, Jira, Git, SonarQube, BrowserStack
Development Knowledge: Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
