This position provides essential clerical and office support that helps the State Workers Insurance Fund (SWIF) Pittsburgh District Office operate effectively. The role supports communication, record keeping, and daily administrative tasks. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Phone and Mail Support: Answer telephones, assist callers or direct them to the correct staff, and sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
  • Information Processing: Use Power Comp to look up file and unit numbers, locate adjustors, and support routine requests for information
  • Document Handling: Prepare copies of medical reports, legal correspondence, memos, and confidential letters for supervisors and investigators
  • Office Coordination: Monitor supplies, prepare supply orders, manage water deliveries, return toner cartridges, and route incoming faxes
  • Human Resources Tasks: Serve as contact for personnel actions, maintain records, assist with timekeeping, and prepare required reports
  • Equipment and Vendor Contact: Coordinate repairs and replacement of office equipment with vendors and Home Office personnel

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
