This position focuses on maintaining daily operations of the wastewater treatment plant while directing maintenance tasks and supporting safe working conditions. It ensures equipment, systems, and workflows are functioning correctly through inspections, testing, and oversight of inmate workers. As a Corrections Wastewater Treatment Plant Foreman, you will perform the following duties:
- Plant Operations: Maintain continuous wastewater treatment processes under normal and emergency conditions
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain motors, pumps, valves, compressors, and related equipment
- Water Testing: Test water chemistry and maintain logs, inventories, and required records
- Operational Communication: Address issues with supervisor and complete paperwork and inventories
- Inmate Oversight: Supervise inmate workers and maintain safe, secure work environments

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Scheduled days off will be determined during the hiring process.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:
- One year of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant.
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater Systems Operators as a wastewater treatment plant operator that is equal to or higher than the Class E, Subclasses 1 and 4.
- You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
