This position supports the Bureau of Operations by assisting with facility construction, maintenance planning, and technical guidance for institutions statewide. The role focuses on reviewing work, coordinating activities, and helping ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and compliant. As a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1, you will perform the following duties:

Technical Support: Advise staff on electrical and electronic repair work and review tasks for accuracy and compliance
Project Oversight: Coordinate construction planning, attend project meetings, and monitor contractor activities
Facility Inspection: Visit institutions to check project progress and verify conformance with standards and requirements
System Expertise: Provide knowledge in security electronics, electrical systems, networking, and other critical facility systems
Training Assistance: Help develop technical training programs for facility maintenance managers
Documentation Work: Prepare advisory reports, review project diagrams, and maintain updated records for future use

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Work Location: This position will be based out of 1920 Technology Parkway in Mechanicsburg, PA. Consideration will be given to an alternative state correctional institution (SCI) location if requested and available.
Travel is required.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55, if designated to work within an SCI. If candidate reports to DOC Central Office, this will not apply.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience as a Building Maintenance Foreman, Utility Plant Supervisor, or Corrections Tradesman Instructor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) with a specialty in one of the trades of Carpentry, Electrical, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Machinist, Welding, Painting, Automotive, Electronics, or Masonry; or
Six years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
