The Department of Critical Care Medicine is seeking a Lead Laboratory Manager to provide leadership and management of the CRISMA Clinical Research and Biospecimen Core Laboratory. Responsibilities include: Serve as the department's compliance and safety officer; Direct lab components of project design, determine applicable experimental processes, and develop SOPs; Prioritize and direct resource requirements across multiple projects in accordance with applicable SOPs, guidelines, and regulations;
Drive interactions with cross-functional teams, clearly communicate scope of work, timing, and budget requirements to ensure successful project execution. Qualifications to include Proven track record of managing teams and implementing / managing multifaceted projects; Strong project management, organization, and analytical skills; Previous lab management experience required; Experience in both animal and human subjects research preferred but not required.
Directs day-to-day laboratory operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices. Works with, adapts, and installs scientific equipment in research laboratories. Develops moderately complex projects and procedures independently. Manages inventory and equipment and performs budget functions. Collaborates to write grant applications and manuscripts.
Read from computer screen; operate keyboard and mouse; operating pipettors, Bio-Rad Bio-Plex assay system, ELISA microplate reader, microplate washer, autoclave, centrifuge, biological safety cabinet packing and lifting boxes of specimens, packing and lifting boxes of supplies, working with -80°C materials that require protective-wear, lifting loaded freezer racks or dry ice laden shippers up to 50lbs.
Will be required to stand for hours at a time and might need to repeatedly lift up to 50lbs.
