UPMC University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a Full-Time Supervisor to help support Capacity Management.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm; on call on a rotating basis.

Location: Remote
Responsibilities:
 

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, performance management, and professional development for Capacity Management Analysts.
  • Oversee work intake, prioritization, assignment, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery of template management, optimization, and capacity management activities.
  • Monitor team performance, service levels, workload trends, and operational metrics to ensure effective execution and achievement of organizational goals.
  • Ensure template builds, modifications, and optimization efforts comply with established scheduling standards, governance requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Review and provide guidance on complex analyses, recommendations, and capacity management solutions to support patient access, provider productivity, and operational performance.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex template, scheduling, and capacity-related issues and facilitate cross-functional problem resolution.
  • Partner with operational, access, clinical, and information systems stakeholders to evaluate needs, address challenges, and support access improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for standardization, process improvement, and operational efficiency through analysis of performance data, stakeholder feedback, and industry best practices.
  • Oversee quality assurance, testing, documentation, and auditing activities to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance across team deliverables.
  • Support the Sr. Manager in achieving departmental objectives through reporting, operational planning, resource management, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Information Systems, Health Information Management, or related field; 

    or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Progressive experience in healthcare operations, ambulatory access, template management, scheduling operations, healthcare IT, or capacity management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects, coordinating operational work, or supervising staff.
  • Strong understanding of provider template management, Epic Cadence functionality, scheduling workflows, and capacity management principles.
  • Experience interpreting operational and performance data to support decision-making and process improvement.Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Preferred:Epic Cadence certification or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.
  • Prior supervisory or team-lead experience.
  • Experience supporting provider template governance, scheduling optimization, and access performance improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with healthcare reporting, analytics, and operational performance management.
