Key Responsibilities /Daily Activities

Prospect Development (25%)

  • Manage and cultivate a portfolio of donor prospects, including outreach, engagement, and periodic travel.
  • Support major gift fundraising initiatives and leverage PAE resources to strengthen prospect strategies and briefing materials.

Special Projects & Reporting (35%)

  • Coordinate special projects and fundraising campaigns, including Pitt Day of Giving, from planning through execution.
  • Generate and analyze CRM reports to support prospect management, portfolio activity, and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with development staff, leadership, and School of Public Health faculty to prepare proposals, reports, and communications.
  • Represent the development office in cross-functional meetings and projects.

Donor Stewardship (40%)

  • Ensure timely donor acknowledgment and create personalized stewardship communications.
  • Manage stewardship activities for the School of Public Health, including stewardship planning and review of endowed fund reports in collaboration with Finance.
  • Maintain relationships with existing donors to enhance engagement, retention, and long-term philanthropic support.

Develops and executes fundraising and stewardship programs to drive engagement and revenue; prepares and executes proposals. Develops prospect interest and strategically solicits funds.

  • Identifies, contacts, and cultivates a small portfolio of prospects which includes periodic travel.
  • Collaborates closely with key faculty across the School of Public Health and represents development in departmental meetings, communications meetings, and other cross-functional settings as needed.
  • Develops and maintains contact with existing donors to reinforce their interest and participation in the University's fundraising projects, supporting broader stewardship programs to drive engagement and retention across the donor base.

Light - Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
