This role supports the maintenance and improvement of training lands and related features at Fort Indiantown Gap. As an Equipment Operator B, you will perform the following duties:

• Equipment Operation: Operate light and heavy machinery to complete land maintenance tasks safely
• Land Upkeep: Maintain roadways, trails, drainage features, and other training land structures
• Material Handling: Load, haul, and unload equipment and supplies as needed for assigned projects
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety rules, conduct equipment checks, and use protective gear as required
• Tool Use: Use hand and power tools such as chainsaws to support maintenance activities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

• One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience or training.

Special Requirement:

• This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

• This position requires possession of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tank endorsement and air brake restriction removed.

• A conditional offer is contingent on passing a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
• You must be willing and able to work in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Experience operating a tracked excavator, hydro-seeder, or forestry mulcher.
