This position supports the development and implementation of the Governor’s executive budget while working closely with several state agencies. The role helps advance the mission of the Office of the Budget and contributes to statewide financial planning. As an Executive Budget Specialist 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Budget Analysis: Review agency budget materials and provide input and recommendations that supports financial decision making
- Agency Coordination: Collaborate with assigned agencies in the Education and Economic Development Division to support agency budget operations throughout the year
- Plan Development: Assist in preparing components of the Governor’s budget proposal
- Implementation Support: Help carry out the enacted budget in alignment with state priorities
- Team Contribution: Work with colleagues to maintain a balanced financial plan for the commonwealth

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Executive Budget Associate training period; or
- One year as a Budget Analyst 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must have one or more years of experience using Microsoft Excel.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualification (not required):
- Experience with SAP, Analysis for Office, or similar ERP systems
