This role centers on maintaining and repairing many kinds of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and dependable operation. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on vehicles, construction equipment, and powered tools
- System Repairs: Complete tasks involving engines, cooling systems, suspension, electrical components, fuel systems, brakes, steering, and driveline systems
- Safety Inspections: Carry out state safety and emissions inspections and complete required documentation
- Field Service: Provide emergency road service and complete repairs outside the garage when necessary
- Record Management: Maintain equipment records and assist with parts identification and documentation
- Environmental Practices: Follow environmental protection requirements and participate in required training
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Travel, overtime, and shift work are required. Work hours are subject to change based upon seasonal requirements and operational needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,819.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
- You must be a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Certified Inspection Mechanic for Class 1 vehicles.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
