As a Clerical Assistant 3 with the Department of Transportation, you will play a key role in creating and updating materials used by customers and partner organizations. This position allows you to work with staff across the Bureau and support efforts that improve public understanding of important programs. Your contributions will help maintain clear, accurate, and accessible information for many audiences. The Department of Transportation invites you to bring your communication skills to this important support role.


This position supports Bureau communication efforts by developing materials, assisting with research, and coordinating updates to forms and publications. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:

  • Customer Support: Respond to inquiries using available resources to resolve questions on motor vehicle titling and registration
  • Material Development: Assist in creating and updating policy modules, forms, fact sheets, and publications
  • Record Maintenance: Track costs and financial information related to Bureau forms and materials
  • Research Review: Examine records and documentation to determine accuracy of title, registration, and placard information
  • Report Preparation: Compile monthly reports with data, graphics, and written summaries for management
  • Training Assistance: Help support the development and delivery of training materials for agent services

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
