The Maintenance Repairman 2 position with the Department of Transportation gives you the opportunity to make a visible impact on Beaver County’s transportation network. This position supports Beaver County maintenance operations by performing skilled repair work on structures, facilities, and essential equipment. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Structural Repair: Maintain and restore bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and related structures
  • Equipment Operation: Use construction tools and machinery to complete assigned tasks
  • Facility Maintenance: Perform repair and remodeling work for county buildings and work areas
  • Mechanical Work: Complete minor mechanical repairs on equipment in field and shop settings
  • Concrete Work: Build formwork and place concrete to extend the life of structures
  • Technical Judgment: Determine appropriate methods and procedures for assigned tasks

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Work schedule may vary seasonally, due to weather, and/or based on operational needs
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,506 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);  or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
